Every time I go to refil the water, clean the dishes and give food, I find a feather. 😁 I think that I'm getting presents from them.

Recently I made a grave mistake trying to help a chick which its parents misinterpreted and now I'm trying to fix the problem by pampering crows in my neighborhood so they can give a good word about me to the insulted parents.

I left the insulted ones fruits and walnuts and water, but I think they didn't see me, so I'll have to repeat a process because I really want to be in good terms with those birds. I hope they will forgive me. I was so stupid for trying to help. 🤦‍♀️

It is a quite hot day (30 degrees Celsius) for this location. It usually hovers around 25 degrees. The jackdaw was walking about with another jackdaw looking for food, actually pecking some dead insects off of a cars bumper. The other jackdaw did not have its beak open. > > Is this a cooling behavior, perhaps similar to when dogs pant?

Hey there, crow bros!

Saw this story on my clinic's page and thought some of you might be interested in seeing some new and experimental physical therapy they had success with on this adorable fish crow!

The Patient of the Week this week is patient 25-4115, a fish crow! This crow was brought in due to head trauma, though we were unable to determine what caused the trauma. We are very excited to share this crow's story because our clinic team was able to use some new techniques to help him. When he arrived, he was unable to stand. Through a combination of hydrotherapy, a harness to give him time upright on his legs, and supportive care with pain management we were able to help him. After 2 weeks of intensive care and physical therapy he was able to walk again on his own!

Hydrotherapy is something we at Aark have used in the past with success (and doesn't he look cute in the bath?), but the harness was a new approach we adapted from seeing it used at other facilities. This crow showed great improvement from these techniques. We are hopeful for a full recovery for this crow and to have him back in the wild soon.

This crow grabbed a mouse from the bushes, flew over to the parking lot to stop theft by another crow, and then flew off to the top of a light post to enjoy the prize.
