New ambient album made of tape loops (bloomingplanes.bandcamp.com)

cross-posted from: https://lemm.ee/post/55112541

This is my first release under this new pseudonym. I made all the tape loops myself and performed them on a Tascam 424 mkiii, with some effects. About an hour of muoque concréte / ambient.

Sorry if self promo isn't allowed!

Mainly ambient. We use software one of our crew developed based in Pure Data. Always keen to find new people to jam with so let me know if interested in joining us.

It operates pretty much like a DAW but with a primitive geeky UI.

You don't need to understand PD unless you want to "get under the hood" to modify instruments/fx or create your own.

RIP Brian McBride (pitchfork.com)

Really sad news. I love Stars of the Lid. They were one of my first entry points into ambient music and have been a part of my life for a long time. I remember when Brian McBride's first solo album came out and how much I loved putting it on at night just to relax. I highly recommend giving it a listen in his memory.

Request: Deep Breakfast (midwest.social)

The sidebar says "for creators." I didn't find a more appropriate community, so I apologize if this is not the right forum.

Does anyone have suggestions for relaxed, yet upbeat, ambient a-la Deep Breakfast? Most of the content I bring into the house gets a complaint about "putting her to sleep," or the other extreme, being too ... I don't know ... abstract? Disconcordant? Clashy?

She likes Deep Breakfast, and No Blue Thing to a lesser degree. Most Mannheim Steamroller gets approval, although I'd barely put that in the Ambient category. So I'm looking for more music like Deep Breakfast -- low key, positive, but not "meditation music."

I appreciate any suggestions! Thank you.

I make these for practice as I'm dipping my toes into ambient music. There are two tracks as of posting this. They aren't related, there isn't any theme I'm aiming for, it's just pure playing around in Ableton Live and seeing what works.

Feel free to give feedback, I encourage any criticism you think might help me. Thanks!

Spent about a year writing, recording and producing this. Alot of mistakes were left in since they were caused by the tape loops and Reel I used to capture the sounds.

Concept is pretty intimate for me. Tldr, it is about being a participant and observer in a cult religion and realizing the Absurdity of it all.

Hope you all enjoy

Here's most of my music to date. Most of it's free / pay what you want.

Thanks for listening.

Trying to create a post from another instance.

I've been trying to make an introductory #post for @flavigula@lemmy.studio to the community @ambient -
The web page just hangs when I submit the post. So! I'm going to try from here.

Been working on more and more releases that should be out soon. All sounds and music created with guitars/pedals, tape loops, synths, field recordings, found sounds from old 1950s south American wax.

Glad I found this community! Always looking for new concepts and other artists since that's how one grows artistically.

A friend shared this with me today when we were talking about alternative music notation, and I thought it was super interesting.
