A place to discuss all things Odoo.

Not to be confused with Dunkin' Donuts, which has similar branding.

And if so, how do I make one?

I have two small requests:

• That dark mode is preserved between sessions on the dashboard

• That the knowledge module adds the ability to add footnotes to articles, similar to how Wikipedia does it.

Currently using Odoo online (saas~18.3+e).

I've only just started setting up my business on Odoo; so far I've really been focusing on the design and look of the site more than anything else (although I have started tinkering with the Knowledge module a bit). The site isn't "live" yet.

Now I hear that an upgrade (18.4) is available for testing, but not for actual live upgrading. I actually thought I would just go ahead and upgrade and get it over with, only to be told that it isn't ready for being live yet only for testing.

Which of my two databases should I be working on? The "Old" one or the "Test" one? I don't want to put in a lot of effort only to have it all get washed away by a software upgrade. I'm a little surprised that they'd announce a new version but not have it available for people to actively use yet.

(Possibly a stupid question, but I'm getting old and am still very new at this).

Something like MediaWiki?

Amazon and PayPal being out of the running of course. FWIW, I think Mullvad uses Stripe . . . 🤔

I'm looking for a good open source CRM and this proves to be a nightmare. vTiger is basically sabotaged by the developers to force payments, most others have basic features pay walled.

I recall setting up Odoo once for tests but deciding it was overly business focused in a way that half name tags on buttons would have to be change just to not be annoying. But that was a while back. Anyone has experience with that?

I guess this is for the Enterprise version, since I'm not smart enough to install the Community version . . .

There are a number of small issues I could use some help with that (unless I'm very much mistaken) don't appear to be covered in any of the documentation, on the forums, or in the video tutorials (how to customize to the web page's header beyond the templates that are provided and how to use the HTML/CSS editor are two of the questions I have).

I'd be much obliged for any assistance, and I can go into more detail about the issues I'm having if this sounds like something anyone can help with.

Trying to get the ball rolling here.

Anybody with real world experience upgrading Odoo CE through OpenUpgrade? I run two Odoo installations, one for myself and one for a client, that are on v15 and v17. Upgrading doesn't seem very urgent or necessary at the moment for either instance, but once in a while I wonder how much trouble I'll be in when the need arises.

OpenUpgrade looks very patchy, and to be honest it seems like a daunting task.

Any experiences or best practices?
