My mother wants to make something like the image.

Currently, she has to use a proprietary word processor, with no good way to control the size and margins. Hopefully there is a better way to achieve the same with less ceremony.

The features we need:

• Create tables with images/texts on each cell (images should be embedded inside each cell)
• Merge some cells together to make a good-looking table
• Multi-line texts in some cells, with formattings like boldface
• CJK language support

Then, good flexibility to control size of cells would be nice - the more intuitive, the better. Both locally installed program or web-based app is fine.

Are there software for this purpose? Thanks a lot in advance!

Unlike some other projects, Ghostty does not use the issue tracker for discussion or feature requests. Instead, we use GitHub discussions for that. Once a discussion reaches a point where a well-understood, actionable item is identified, it is moved to the issue tracker. This pattern makes it easier for maintainers or contributors to find issues to work on since every issue is ready to be worked on.

This approach is based on years of experience maintaining open source projects and observing that 80-90% of what users think are bugs are either misunderstandings, environmental problems, or configuration errors by the users themselves. For what's left, the majority are often feature requests (unimplemented features) and not bugs (malfunctioning features). Of the features requests, almost all are underspecified and require more guidance by a maintainer to be worked on.

Any Discussion which clearly identifies a problem in Ghostty and can be confirmed or reproduced will be converted to an Issue by a maintainer, so as a user finding a valid problem you don't do any extra work anyway. Thank you.

Surprisingly, given how much time has passed since the last stable release, the changes aren’t that big. In the new 2.5 version, the web interface receives general usability and visual improvements, including the introduction of an experimental dark mode, marked as experimental.

Hi, exam period is near so I wanted to share this.

I made a 24-hour focus timer to help myself study. Started it 6 years ago (during the covid lockdown) and I’ve been using and improving it ever since.

A full circle represents 24 hours. Each study session adds a green arc, so by the end of the day you get a “cake” of your activity.

It now has session tags, stats (daily/weekly/monthly), streaks, and a simple todo list. And all data is stored on your browser locally.

The team behind Blur Busters has created an overlay called ShaderBeam that finally brings its motion-blur-reducing CRT Beam Simulator to the desktop environment and PC games. The overlay can be downloaded from GitHub.

Blur Buster's CRT emulator was previously only available in a demo format, through RetroArch, or n ithe VintVideo Player. ShaderBeam changes this and enables the emulator to be used in Windows with any Windows application. To get the app to work, all you'll need is a 100Hz display or greater and Windows 10 or newer.

Ncurses 6.6 was released today prior to closing out 2025. This programming library update for creating terminal-based text user interfaces (TUIs) features a variety of great improvements for ending out the year.

Ncurses 6.6 remains source compatible with Ncurses 6.5 and versions going back to v5.0. A big focus with Ncurses 6.6 is on enhancing the MinGW / Windows Terminal driver. The modern Windows Terminal driver for Ncurses that has been in development the past half-decade has seen a variety of improvements to the terminal driver code.

Extension allows you to read articles from (supported) sites that implement a paywall.

You can also add a domain as custom site and try to bypass the paywall. Weekly updates are released for fixes and new sites.

During the 1990s, everyone wanted to surf the information super-highway — also known as the World Wide Web or just ‘Internet’ — but not everyone was interested in getting one of those newfangled personal computers when they already had a perfect good television set. Shotcut, a popular open-source video editor, has released version 25.12, introducing one of its most significant image-quality upgrades to date with full 10-bit CPU video processing and expanded linear color handling.

Until now, 10-bit video support was limited when working outside GPU effects, forcing users to avoid transitions, blending, or many CPU-based filters to prevent a fallback to 8-bit processing. With this release, many CPU video effects have been ported to support both 10-bit and 12-bit sources, including transitions and track compositing.

Haruna, a Qt-based media player developed as part of the KDE ecosystem and built on top of MPV, has released version 1.7. The most visible changes center on playlists, as the player now supports advanced sorting and grouping, making larger music collections easier to navigate.
