I saw a big bunch of posts around here discussing the use of VPNs or i2p to torrent. As I seldom download something, I wasn't too much worried about using my IP. Now I'm using an arr stack and that kicked me in the way to protect my connection a little better. So, what are you all using nowadays for your torrenting?

I have a family immich instance self-hosted. All pics from my kids devices are auto-uploaded on our instance. This is nice, but also updates a lot of photos and videos of they kidding and joking, ando lot of repeated stuff. Immich only allows that I exclude my own stuff, and it’s really boring have to login with each account to exclude my kids stuff. Is there anyway that I can manage and exclude photos and videos of other users?

The damn thing doesn’t turn up (not even the led) or shows at lsusb. Is this now just an e-waste? It gets a little warm when puggled on the usb.

Hello everyone. Need some opinions here. Does it worth all the trouble to make things like jellyfin and immich run with HTTPS for services that are only accesible in the LAN? I ask it 'cause, as far as I know, there is no way to put a valid certificate like let's encrypt for a service that is not accessible from the net and I don't plan to buy a certificate for myself. But I have some trouble with the rest of my family having issue with their browsers complaining about the lack of https every time a browser is updated. So, what would be the best solution?

A little question for the HA and DIY crossroad. Has anyone here made your own sensors/devices with arduino, pi or some other microcontroller/sbc to interact with HA? I have some spare parts around and I'm thinking in something simple, like an air quality, maybe a little weather station or something to tell me if the garage door is opened or close, something simple, yet usable. I had a look on instructables, but I wished for something that would integrate with my first HA experience. Any thoughts?

Hello everyone, and good evening. I got to old motorola phones (one fusion and a g8) and I'm gonna install ip webcam to put them to some use. Is there any other way I can make use of them with HA? Can I use their sensors for anything else?

I've been using pi-hole for the last 3 or 4 years and I'm pretty satisfied with it. Now I'm thinking about the next step. Nowadays I have my local network and a tailscale to access my hosts. I'm thinking about a DNS solutions to solve the names on the locla network and thru tailscale simultanely, while been able to block ads on DNS like pi-hole do. What do you think would be a better solution for this next step? I've only used bind before, but I think and old dog can learn a new trick.
