Thank you very much for the pointers! There is so much info at different levels out there that it's encouraging to get recommendations.

Gicen the risk of locking myself out (have been prone to do that even IRL) I may limit firewalling to times where I have physical access.

Reverse proxy sounds intriguing though. I've got a domain already, so just missing... well.. the rest (:

    Actually, I was wondering:

    I have used tailscale, and lately netbird, for remote access and it has worked well for Jellyfin streaming, ssh/rsync and accessing other WebUIs. All with non-default passwords of course.

    However I have not set up any of the internal network hardening like OPNSense, VLANs or ReverseProxy. Is it safe to configure these remotely or am I risking locking myself out?

    I looking for a bus/campervan. Not for full-time living but as small adventure bus for weekend or week-long trips and to also use as daily driver.

    I am usually by myself or with 1 other person and occasionally with groups of up to 9 people (which might be a stretch, but just throwing out some numbers).

    I am completely new to ownining a car and campervanning in general so am looking for people with experience with this type of model for spare time use and advice on what to look out for.

    I've had my eye on the VW id. Buzz because it's electric and has a nice size for being mobile but large enough to to fit many people or lots of gear or a bed + living basics.

    I am relatively tall (190cm) so am worried about not being able to stand up in it or having to permanently remove some seats to install a bed lengthwise.

    I am open to looking at other models but It's important for me, that it is an electric car for the lower environmental impact and maintainence cost.

    That's a good point. However in the EU it should be the opposite - otherwise the site is violating GDPR.

    Sometimes I have a feeling sites do whatever they want anyway regardless of bow many dark patterns I click through to find the "no" and "off" buttons because there are no real repercussions. Just like the "do not track" request and "robots.txt" are essentially useless.

    You're right, that it doesn't just work as conveniently out-of-the-box on Codeberg. However you do not have to self-host: You merely have to apply to get access to their hosted Woodpecker instance at ci.codeberg.org.

    Onboarding requires a few manual steps, as to prevent the abuse of Codeberg's limited resources. You will need to request access by filling out this form. After submitting, a Codeberg volunteer will review your request and grant you access if your use case is appropriate.
