Im a dude, but I lost weight in college and panicked when a couple girls in my friend group were suddenly all touchy and treating me like the dudes they were in to. It wasn't sudden, but them all noticing I lost weight did happen all at once with one person noticing it. I panic gained weight, just started munching everyday like I used to, I still don't know why. Barely starting to lose weight again years later. Maybe I was scared that every look based validation thing I was told was bs and personality is what really mattered wasn't actually true for most people. I'm not gonna lie and say I pick purely personality > looks, it's definitely looks first with personality being the final decider so It's not like I was upset with them or anything. Just freaked me out experiencing it firsthand.

Sometimes I wish I could just go away somewhere for a year to not be perceived while I lose weight and get used to it.

Man is acting like the reddit devs, there is a reason you never see fuck spez or anyone complaining about the ceos/founders anymore, searching fuck spez will only show you stuff from 2023, like suddenly no one has any issue with him

Only way out of a perma ban is resetting your phone, you can restore from backup, idk how to get away with it on pc so I just never login there, never login to the phone browser either, at least in my case a google account alt logins automatically sometimes and gave me away last time. I havent bothered making an account in the last few months, all of social media just feels dead and borint right now.

immutable, I tried literally every fix you are thinking of from reddit, other people have mentioned it didn't work on bazzite either on the discord, ill prob have an ai agent give it a go at some point, it usually finds workarounds for bazzite based on it being based on atomic silver blue fedora or whatever the fk it says, im just taking a break from simracing and didn't trust ai with sht back then

idr how share works, if you continue a conversation isnt it on your account, like the original conversation starter isn't getting xharged, anyone sharing it anywhere publically indexed likely isnt sharing sensitive information so I don't really see the issue

Ngl I was doing that for a while, google search is ass these days, even 4 years ago, ai was more useful for finding sources than google. I was using bingai at the time and I would also google and try to find sources the regular way, I had way more success just telling ai to only return edu sources (or similar instructions, idr exactly since it's been a while) People that seek easy results with no effort could've got them through chegg back before ai really took off. It was always an active choice to learn how to do a problem rather than just grabbing an answer and faking the proof. (Ngl mostly because exams are proctored or in person, but that hasn't changed even with AI, students will still fail to passs their classes and get degrees if they rely purely on AI)

What apps/sites are yall using lately that you weren't in the past 2 years? Any features you like?

Are there new lemmy frontends or ones that are your goto? I remember that being a thing that felt superior to the regular front end but I don't remember which were good or how to access them.

Has Friendica, Mastodon or any other service got signicant or interesting updates in the last year or 2? Any Linux clients? Does a fully interconnected app or one meant for crossposting exist? Saw that openvibe switched to a subscription model recently and you can only log in to 2 profiles. I've always liked the idea of publish on your own site, syndicate everywhere and the activityhub seems built for that, yet it doesn't seem possible across it? Does anything actually support that here yet in a usable way. (I always found making crossposts to mastadon from lemmy and vice versa confusing.)

I just feel out of the loop and don't see much discussion about what's new here. Wouldn't mind anyone doing self promo, since I never see that here.

Some things I'm aware of that weren't around when I got interested in the fediverse

    • Loops on both appstores (Tiktok Alternative)
    • Intersteller on ios appstore (Mbin client, lets you reply in feed and scroll around instead of opening a full screen popup)

Whenever my main pc is running some heavy game that requires all resources, I throw my handheld on the 2nd monitor, just swapping inputs between bluetooth and wireless to go back and forth when necessary. Works great for multitasking. Think it's nice when my handheld is being used for gaming, my pc is in productivity mode, and when I want to play something heavier my handheld becomes the productivity pc (I sometimes do remote work and keep games running on my main pc for when I take breaks so I don't have to reload the game.)

Obviously a benefit that can come from any mini pc, backup laptop, etc. but in the case of handhelds, mine is never just sitting around collecting dust, if I'm gaming on my PC, it is doing my regular pc tasks like webbrowsing, streaming, etc. and if I'm using my main pc for productivity it becomes my gaming break device again. Just not something I considered as I was worried if I got back into heavier gaming on my pc it would become a waste of money.

I just binged millarworld, ngl I hated most of it, superior, starlight and huck were the main standout exceptions. I did like big game, felt like it retroactively made his previous books better and had a good ending. Not the biggest fan of the new huck (huck gets cucked) and nemesis books that have come after.

Not sure what to start next, was nice to have a reading order. Read the valiant universe 2012 reboot before this. Probably going to do marvel/dc next, tried to start with greenlantern after kickass to read something light at emerald city. A few issues later I hit the fridge and had to stop reading, not sure what's worse, that or what happens to katie in kickass.

Going for real id, I think I can go in the appointment line since it says to do that, I preverified the documents. I went to madera years ago and my parents have always went there because they say it's the fastest, tho that is just an assumption at this point since it has been many years since they tried elsewhere.

What's the one with the most tolerable wait? Like seating area or ability to wait outside and come back? Do they all have appointment lines, and I just want to make sure I can enter that line without an appointment.

If you tried it in the past and had issues, try it again. It's the best ui for using lemmy imo. I had been using arctic for a while but was getting bugs with clicking on notifications not leading me to the correct comment.

The testflight has experimental piefed support, don't think notifications work there yet.

Voyager also has piefed support, and is my second favorite right now. Mlem is also stable, but i'm not a fan of the look no matter how I customize it.

The fk is clara supposed to be now? I thought she the impossible girl, the girl who is somehow alive but shouldnt be, the surviving impossible girl, this episode makes her the dead and forever forgotten girl, the girl who wasn't remembered. The only companion the doctor forgets, who jumps into a timestream to save him throughout history but just loses her life out of it.

The doctor implies humans came after and descended from timelords, but what if far in the future humans that generically modified themseleves to survive a harsh empty planet ( two hearts for whatever reason) they had settled on after thousands/millions of years of humans migrating out in the world, like the doctor loves to mention, found a time vortex on accident or settled there on purpose.

Regenerations solve death, give people extra chances can descend from the concept of reincarnation. No age, gender, or race discrimination since you can die and become any. They lived near a time vortex and that couldve sent the whole dome encased city back millions of years back in time leading to an event where they later create humans. The whole fry is his own grandpa situation.

I think they are both descendants of humans and that they created humans.
